Alessandro Zulian is the newly appointed Executive Chef for Reel Cinemas.
Alessandro grew up in a beautiful village called Forano which is located on the outskirts of Rome. Growing up with his nonna (grandmother) and mamma whose passion is to cook and prepare special dishes for the family, his fascination for cooking began. He was especially captivated by the idea of cooking using fresh ingredients which he himself harvests around his home.
Alessandro took culinary studies at IPSSART in Spoleto, Umbria to pursue his ambitions of becoming a culinary professional.
Alessandro began creating scrumptious dishes back in 2007 in Rome’s Gambero Rosso Citta del Gusto, followed by six months mission on the Greek island of Halkidiki’s Italian restaurant, Maccaroni at Sani Village 5 Star Resort.
In December 2008, Alessandro moved to Senigallia to take on the role of commis chef at a two Michelin starred restaurant Madonnina del Pescatore. Alessandro returned to Rome in 2009 and joined Piero & Francesco restaurant as sous chef for a year.
In 2010, Alessandro moved to Saturnia Tuscany to be a part of a one Michelin starred gourmet restaurant, Acquacotta at Terme di Saturnia Spa & Golf Resort’s culinary team as a chef de partie and sous chef.
Prior to moving to Dubai, Alessandro took on a role as a sous chef at Golf Club Bogogno in Novarra, where the annual PGA Championships are being held.
Alessandro moved to Dubai at the end of 2012 bringing with him his passion for creating Italian rustic dishes, enthusiasm of mastering international cuisines, and knowledge gained from his experiences in Europe.
Alessandro has been in Dubai for over 5 years now. During these years he took on roles as Head Chef and Executive Chef in Carluccio’s and Pizzaro, and Specialty Chef in IMG Worlds of Adventure, the world’s largest indoor theme park where he played a crucial role at the pre-opening of F&B operations.
During Q3 2017, Alessandro joined Emaar Entertainment’s Reel Cinemas and F&B division as Executive Chef, with the goal of developing fresh and exciting concepts that will give guests unique dining and cinema experience.
Outside work, Alessandro loves spending time with his family who he considers as his inspiration. He devotes time in creating dishes at home. He is into discovering new restaurants, and experiencing culture across the world.
