Chef Roberto Segura

Roberto Segura’s passion for cooking started at a young age in Peru where he was born and raised and where he was exposed to the rich flavors and diverse tastes of Northern Peruvian food.  He started his career as a chef in some of Lima’s top Peruvian eateries, as well travelling and working in Argentina, Chile, Mexico and New York, before moving to Dubai in 2011 where he worked on the opening of Toro Toro restaurant in Grosvenor House and as head chef at The Act in the Shangri La Hotel.

In 2015 Roberto launched 3 Hospitality Group and create Craft Café -the first concept of the group in Dubai’s Design District offering hearty, healthy and soulful food.

Having successfully established the first concept, Roberto went on to lead the team with the opening of Waka Restaurant & Bar in 2017 bringing a true taste of Latin American culture to Dubai.

Roberto is one of the top F&B consultants in GCC, creating and opening restaurants in Dubai, Kuwait, Turkey, Egypt amongst others.

Roberto has cemented his place amongst the top Chefs in the city and become renowned for his exciting menus and buzzing ambiance at both venues. Roberto is now regionally recognized with a number of awards including Chef of the Year 2017 and leading Waka team to win the Best America’s restaurant for the BBC Good Food Awards 2017 in addition to winning the Best America’s restaurant at the 2017 What’s on Awards and Restaurant of the Year in Zomato Awards 2017.

Roberto leads the team at 3 Hospitality in his role as Director and Founder. With his extensive experience in some of the city’s leading restaurants, he uses his culinary expertise and fresh perspective to constantly revamp and introduce new dishes- much to the delight of his loyal fan base.
