Chef Darren Hall, is a well-seasoned foodie having spent his 14-year culinary career working his way up through the ranks to Chef de Cuisine of American gastropub, Cook Hall at The Westin Dubai, Al Habtoor City.
As a native South African, Darren began his career in 2002 as a keen kitchen assistant for HK German Restaurant in his hometown of Johannesburg. From there, he progressed to Chef de Partie in Hilton Sandton Hotel, then Executive Sous Chef at Monte Restaurant before relocating to Dubai in 2009 and taking up the coveted position of Chef de Partie at Zuma.
After a short time away from the U.A.E., Darren returned to the Emirates, this time to Abu Dhabi as the Sous Chef at the Kempinski Emirates Palace. His most recent role saw him stand in as the Chef de Cuisine at Geales at Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa in Dubai.
In January 2016, Darren was appointed as the Chef de Cuisine for new Dubai hotspot Cook Hall at The Westin Dubai, Al Habtoor City; he was an integral part of the pre-opening team for the venue, adding his creative flair to the menus and handpicking his brigade.
