There’s a distinct sense of arrival and discovery from the moment the guests step inside. Walkthrough an immersive portal entrance and Tàn Chá restaurant is spread across two floors, and a first-floor terrace overlooks the canal with exceptional views of Business Bay, Dubai. The space is brought to life with a vibrant colour palette and linear forms inspired by Hong Kong’s architectural density, vibrant wallpaper depicting influences of Chinese culture, and contrasting raw materials. Each space is adaptable to cater for parties or events with the clever use of sliding partitions and curtains.

An iconic nod to tradition, the private dining space has the famous Chinese birdcage known for its fine materials and beautiful workmanship, used as a window into the kitchen and dim sum pass and theatrical tea service point.

David has had an illustrious career and has worked and trained throughout Asia, exploring Chinese ingredients and techniques. His love for fine dining has brought him to this point, where he has developed his own style in creating a celebration of Chinese gastronomy through its fluid use of ingredients across neighbouring borders.

His journey has taken him across the globe, and he has worked in some of the best restaurants and luxury hotels during his illustrious career. With a range of specialities, including modern authentic Chinese cuisine—as well as Szechuan, Shanghainese, and Far East Asian—David’s eye for detail, creativity, and passion for produce and meticulous presentation skills keeps the restaurant on the culinary forefront.

His personality and passion for what he does truly sets him apart from his peers. He is laser-focused on delivering excellence and brings a wealth of culinary expertise to every plate he puts together.
